Whats New in 2017?

As the organizers of the Century Challenge and Cycle de Vine, Lake Chelan Rotary is always looking for ways to improve your experience as a rider.

In 2016 we modified the Cycle de Vine to transport riders across the lake thus avoiding having to go out and back long the north and south shores of the lake.  This proved to be very popular and will be a part of the ride from now on weather permitting .

For 2017 we will be adding Home Hosting and Camping at Chelan High School.

Home Hosting

Home Hosting has long been a tradition within Rotary.  Hotels are expensive in Chelan in the month of June.  As an alternative, some of Lake Chelan’s Rotarians will open their homes to riders for both Friday and Saturday evening.  Hence the term “Host Hosting”.

Spouses or partners of riders will be accommodated depending on the type of room available.  There are a limited number of rooms available.  They will be available on a first come first served basis for a donation to our 501(c)3 (Lake Chelan Community and International Fund).  The suggested donation is $75 per person.

When you register for the ride you will be asked:  “Would you like to reserve Home Hosting?”  If you choose this option you will be contacted by the person in charge of home hosting to confirm whether we have been able to accommodate you.

Camping

Chelan High School

A number of riders have inquired about the possibility of camping somewhere close to the start and finish of the rides.

The are a number of place where you can camp but this year we are recommending camping at the Chelan High School  The high school is close to town and the start and finish the rides in Don Morse Park.  You can pitch a tent at the high school, and have access to the bathrooms and showers.   The camping area will be monitored by a security company.

Camping spots will be available on a first come first served basis for a donation to our 501(c)3 (Lake Chelan Community and International Fund).  The suggested donation is $2o per person.

When you register for the ride you will be asked:  “Would you like to reserve Camping at CHS?”  If you choose this option you will be contacted by the person in charge of camping to confirm whether we have a camping spot reserved for you.
